Difference between DVD and VCD

DVD stands for Digital Versatile Disc and VCD stands for Video Compact Disc.Listed below are some major differences between a DVD and VCD.
1) A DVD can usually holds minimum 4.7 GB data while a VCD can hold only 700 MB  data.
2)Audio and video quality of DVD is higher than that of a VCD.
3)DVD uses MPEG 2 compression (MPEG-2 compression is higher quality compression than MPEG-1) scheme and VCD uses MPEG1 compression scheme.
